Environmental problem- Pollution reduce

Kia Ora
This week we did a writing test.
we had to write an explanation to explain three ways to fix a problem with the environment.
I hope you enjoy my writing that I worked hard on.

Name: Sky B
Explanation Writing - Term 4

Prompt: - - Write to describe one environmental problem and explain what people do to reduce its impact on the planet.

Think about:
  • What your reader needs to know about the topic
  • How you are going to introduce the topic
  • The order of your ideas and how you link them
  • What to include in your summary

Remember to:
  • Choose your words carefully
  • Take care with your spelling, punctuation, and sentences
  • Edit - add or delete words or sentences to improve your work

Start Writing Here:
Pollution reduce
Here is one of our environmental problems. A problem is when something bad happens. If you want to help our planet here are some things you can do. And with that said let's get on with the writing.

Firstly, you could reduce the use of fossil fuels that are going everywhere like when a car crashes oil leaks out it is polluting our earth and making our animals sick. To reduce the use of fossil fuels you could ride a bike instead of driving a car or you could walk to school/work.

Secondly, you could also reduce the use of natural resources such as trees, and taking good care of the land. Instead of drawing a tiny little picture and throwing the paper away, you could draw other things on it and make it a gift or something instead of throwing it away. So our land does not become polluted and bare.

Lastly, you could reduce the use of plastic by using recyclable bags, and recycle plastic bottles and bags don’t throw them away. Because if you do throw them away they could fly out to sea and take the life of an unexpected sea turtle. Over 100 million marine animals die from plastic each year and it is estimated that there are 100 million tons of plastic in oceans around the world.

So with all that rubbish on our planet you never know one day we might have to evacuate our beloved earth. One day if we end up doing this it could save our earth and we could live here for many more years to come.

Nana poem Greats and Grands day

Kia Ora
Tomorrow is Greats and Grands day at Ohaeawai School and we have been busy preparing!
We each had to write a piece of writing about our grandparents.
I really hope you like mine!
We also had to write an explanation about a problem that grandparents could have, and we had to write three ways to fix it. I will attach that at the bottom of the page.

And here is my explanation

How Grandparents Cope with back pain.

A grandparent is a person who is old enough for their child to have a baby. As a grandparent gets older and older their pains get worse and worse and that is called ageing. One ageing problem that a grandparent may have to deal with is back pain.

One thing that a grandparent can do to cope with is to make sure that they are relaxed and comfy so it eases the pain enough for them to do something like watching TV, knitting, sewing and maybe a nap.

A second thing they can do is to get someone to massage it daily so the pain eases away and you may finish what you want to do but if you want to stay away from back pain it is best that you do not bend down.

A third thing that a grandparent could do is if the pain gets worse and it won’t go away you should try a retirement home and it will take away some of the chores and jobs that they had to do every day.

Back pain is very painful for grandparents and if they like gardening  this is not a very good thing to have I hope that in the future people will find a way to help grandparents and their pain.
